The debate “Did Jesus Rise from the Dead?” was the second debate on the topic for Licona and Carrier, held at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas on February 11, 2010. The debate was sponsored by Christian Challenge @ Washburn and The Atheist Community of Topeka.

  1. I wanted to share with Dr. Licona that he has a fairly strong argument against the schizotypal view espoused by Dr. Richard Carrier. Dr. Carrier states Paul suffered Cognitive Dissonance which led to his reversal or conversion. This argument fails because someone with schizotypal does not have the personality. the psychological constitution, to go door to door and arresting people. It’s actually quite a silly and absurd statement to make, that schizo’s would act in this manner. Its equivalent to saying “That is a vegetarian alligator.” Someone with no knowledge of an alligator’s diet would be fooled.

I have treated schizo’s as a counselor and I can tell you that such a disorder ABSOLUTELY rules out the possibility of someone going around and aggressively placing people under arrest. The disorder causes them to shun people and care about virtues, laws, morals, e.t.c. They want to be left alone by and large. Second, schizo’s do not have EMPATHY. It is not possible for someone that does not have empathy to experience cognitive dissonance, guilt and so forth.

The DISORDER is CHARACTERIZED by INTERPERSONAL DEFICITS–they do not care about people! That is not to say they are sociopaths or evil. They care about people like I care about a wounded bird in my yard.

Below I show you the definition of person diagnosed with schizotypal.

***Schizotypal is a PERSONALITY DISORDER that makes it IMPOSSIBLE to have relationships with people. If the resurrection is false then we have a bigger miracle that God healed Paul’s personality disorder lol through a self-induced psychotic/hallucination.

Diagnostic Criteria for Schizotypal Personality Disorder

    A. A pervasive pattern of social and interpersonal deficits marked by acute discomfort with, and reduced capacity for, close relationships as well as by cognitive or perceptual distortions and eccentricities of behavior, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

ideas of reference (excluding delusions of reference)
odd beliefs or magical thinking that influences behavior and is
inconsistent with subcultural norms (e.g., superstitiousness, belief in clairvoyance, telepathy, or “sixth sense”; in children and adolescents, bizarre fantasies or preoccupations)
unusual perceptual experiences, including bodily illusions
odd thinking and speech (e.g., vague, circumstantial, metaphorical, overelaborate, or stereotyped)
    suspiciousness or paranoid ideation
    inappropriate or constricted affect
behavior or appearance that is odd, eccentric, or peculiar
lack of close friends or confidants other than first-degree relatives
excessive social anxiety that does not diminish with familiarity and tends to be associated with paranoid fears rather than negative judgments about self

    • I should have wrote “The disorder causes people to NOT CARE about values, morals, e.t.c:

I wrongfully wrote “The disorder causes them to shun people and care about virtues, laws, morals, e.t.c
